Belted Galloway Cattle
In 2024, we delved into raising cattle. Belted Galloways are a fun and interesting breed. Our heifers are pasture & grain-fed. They have annual farm vet checkups and are vaccinated. Our breeding cattle are registered with the Belted Galloway Society.
These are quite a hardy breed that makes life easier for the novice cattle farmer!

- Belted Galloways are polled, which means they are naturally hornless
- Beltie cows make GREAT moms!
- The breed originated in Scotland
- Double coat - long and shaggy in the winter, and they shed down to handle the summer hot weather
- While this breed is mostly known for meat, some lines are bred for dual-purpose of dairy and meat.
